In a move that Chief Minister Mayawati saidwas inspired by B.R. Ambedkar, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet Tuesday decided todivide the state into four:  Purvanchal,Pashchim Pradesh, Bundelkhand and Awadh Pradesh. While Mayawati had written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on theissue, her cabinet took a formal decision to take it up as a resolution in thestate assembly during the winter session beginning Nov 21.“Wewill get a resolution passed by the assembly to divide the state into foursmaller states during the coming winter session to be opened on Nov 21,”Mayawati said at a press conference in Lukhnow.

“After the resolution was passed by theassembly, it would be sent to the central government that would be required totable it before parliament where it would have to be passed,” Mayawati Claiming that the move was inspired by herideologue Ambedkar's philosophy of building smaller units of governance forbetter law and order and to ensure uniform development, she said: “We proposeto reorganise Uttar Pradesh into the states of Purvanchal (East Uttar Pradesh),Pashchim Pradesh (West Uttar Pradesh), Bundelkhand (South Uttar Pradesh) andAwadh Pradesh (Central Uttar Pradesh).” Explaining the rationale behind themove, she added: "As we all know, UP is the country's most populous statewith the population shooting up to nearly 20 crore, which means that 16 percent of the country's population lives. It also has a gigantic area of 240,000sq km and that is what makes it unwieldy." Only a division can solve theproblems and remove the inherent imbalances, the chief minister said. "Themove would fulfil the much-awaited aspirations of the people living in each ofthe regions that have suffered on account of neglect and apathy of successivegovernments - either led by the Congress or the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP)."             Accusing national governments of apathytowards her state, Mayawati said: "Even though UP had given the maximumnumber of prime ministers to the country, none cared to do something concretefor appropriate development of the state."             She claimed that hers was the onlygovernment that had shown sincere interest in comprehensive development.
"Soon after we came to power on ourown strength in 2007, I not only wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seekinga special economic package of Rs.80,000 crore for the development of thebackward regions of Purvanchal and Bundelkhand but also met him personally, tono avail."           Critics::::::              Dividing UP into four states will directlyquadruple the overhead expenditure of the state. The sole objective of Mayawatiis to win the forth coming assembly elections, so that she can continue wearinggiant garlands made of currency notes of 1000 rupees denominations.

Conclusion: Even though I have serious reservation in Mayawati holding any publicoffice whatsoever, she must be voted back to power, to save the environment.Same is also true for all other politicians of India, who are enjoying thefruits of the democracy of ever growing illiterate and barbarian psychedvoters.             Theruling Ministers of UP and its associates have Grabbed all the EMPTY LANDS inUP, making them richer and richer in these 4 years in the name of parks, etc.Now UP govt. wants to divide UP into 4regions as UP chief Minister wants a separate region to cover her Illegalproperties acquired by them during their rule...So, it's a Conspiracy theory of the presentUP govt. to hide their Black Money and all the Illegal Properties acquired bythem.             Dividing state for what reason? Is it dueunable to have better management with state missionaries?? It is true that UPis vast state and bigger than many foreign countries... And it is also truethat small states can have better prosperity and governance...             However, our track record with dividingstates seems to be good. And as far as Mayawati is concerned, this is justpolitical gimmick... She is trying her best to remain in power which is notgoing to happen post 2012...The most criminal state in the country! These butchers have not been able to eradicate murder or rape in 20000generations and so they now want to turn the minds of laymen towards efficientgovernance by division of states. Actually all these politicians desire is tocollectively cheat the taxpayer and treasury of billions of dollars afteranother round of election propaganda. In the name of development they havediverted millions of dollars into constructing third rate roads, horriblehospitals, and the dirtiest public latrines in the world which even animalswould never use.              This is just another trick of these dirtypoliticians to divert attention from the real issues of development of thestate. UP has the second largest GDP in Indiaafter Maharashtra and in spite of so much contribution to India's GDP, it hasthe maximum poverty & over population.              All the politicians in UP are canvassingvotes but hardly any one is bothered about the progress of the state. Smaller states are better run; you onlyhave to look at Uttarakhand, Chhatisgarh. The only exception is Jharkhand. Jharkhandunfortunately has too much natural wealth and no proper leader. She willprobably end up as another Laloo who was also invincible, once upon a time tillpeople saw through him.
